Federation should address concerns of Sindh regarding digital census, joint declaration

Karachi: In the all-party conference organized by the federal government under the Pakistan People’s Party Sindh regarding the ongoing digital census 2023 in the province, the participating political, religious and nationalist parties, writers and writers jointly announced that if the census related If the province’s concerns are not resolved, the results will not be accepted.

In a local hotel in Karachi, People’s Party Sindh President Nisar Ahmad Khoro told a press conference after the end of the conference that the participating parties in the conference have demanded that the period of the census be extended and Sindh be counted correctly, the flaws in the census should be corrected. Foreign immigrants should be removed and kept in separate cells.

In the conference, the leaders of various parties expressed their concerns in detail on digital census and a joint declaration was approved. At the end of the conference, Nisar Khoro said that there are many concerns about the digital census. He said that after the identity card expires, how will it be known who is a Pakistani and who is a foreign immigrant?

He said that the time given for house enumeration and census is very less because it takes more than 35 minutes to fill the forms, so how can everyone be enumerated in less time. He said that on behalf of the leaders participating in the conference, the Chief Minister of Sindh was asked to talk to the Federation on this issue to end the concerns of Sindh and save Pakistan from being divided into two parts.

Briefing the conference, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that there was strong objection to the 2017 census, that is why the previous government and CCI decided to conduct a new census. He said that there should be a census, but not such a census as was done in 2017.

The Chief Minister said that if the population of Sindh is counted accurately and transparently, then no one will object and if there is no census of these things, it is not a solution. Syed Murad Ali Shah said that if the census is correct, the flaws should be corrected and the concerns of Sindh should be eliminated.

The All Parties Conference was presided over by PPP Sindh President Nisar Khoro while Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah briefed the conference about the census. Syed Nasir Shah, Saeed Ghani, Sassi Paliju, Khildas Kohistani of PML-N, Maulana Rashid Mehmood Soomro of JUI, Shahi Syed of ANP, Dr Qadir Magsi of Sindh Progressive Party, Aftab Qadri of Sunni Tehreek, Jamaat Leaders including Osama Razi of Islami, Mohammad Halim Ghori of JUP, Awami Workers Party, Awami Jamhoori Party, Writer Nazir Laghari, Wali Muhammad of Siga, Dr. Ayub Sheikh participated.
