Lahore: In Pakistan Super League 8, Lahore Qalandars defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 4 wickets and qualified for the final.
In the second eliminator of the ongoing league at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, Lahore Qalandars achieved the target of 172 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the 19th over.
Mirza Baig scored 54 runs for Lahore Qalandars. Wicketkeeper-batsman Sam Billings was dismissed for 28, Sikandar Raza for 23, Ahsan Hafeez for 15, Abdullah Shafiq for 10 and Fakhar Zaman for 6 runs.
Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi scored 11 runs and David Wiese remained not out with 9 runs.
On behalf of Peshawar Zalmi, Azmatullah Umarzai took 2 wickets while Wahab Riaz, Aamir Jamal and Salman Irshad got 1 and 1 wicket respectively.
Before that, Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and batted first and scored 171 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
On behalf of Peshawar Zalmi, Mohammad Haris scored 85 runs while captain Babar Azam was dismissed with 42 runs.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa scored 25 runs and Haseebullah remained not out with 5 runs.
On behalf of Lahore Qalandars, Rashid Khan and Zaman Khan took 2, 2 wickets while Shaheen Shah Afridi took 1 wicket.
