Progress report sought in objectionable content case against actresses

The Sindh High Court has sought a progress report from PTA, federal government and FIA in the case of uploading objectionable content against actresses on social media.

A hearing was held on the pleas of well-known actresses Mehwish Hayat and Kabra Khan for uploading objectionable content against actresses on social media.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Federal Government and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) have submitted responses.

Sindh High Court Justice Nimatullah Phalpoto asked the public prosecutor that the material was directed to be removed, was it removed?

The public prosecutor said that Mahwish Hayat’s statement has been taken, Kabri Khan’s statement is to be taken.

Investigating Officer FIA Cybercrime said that PTA has been asked to remove the content, the relevant content will be removed soon.

The PTA, in its response, said that the objectionable material which could have been removed by itself was removed, and that the relevant authorities have been contacted for the material to be removed from abroad.

FIA female investigation officer said that FIA has started investigation by issuing complaint numbers, the material will be removed soon.

The Sindh High Court adjourned further hearing of the case till February 24.

It should be noted that Mehwish Hayat and Kabra Khan approached the court against Adil Raja’s statement.

The actresses had taken the stand in the petition that the reputation has been damaged by the fabricated and frivolous allegations.
