Federal Commerce Minister Naveed Qamar has welcomed the decision of the Chinese province of Shandong to move its industry to Pakistan.
In a meeting with a Chinese business delegation in Islamabad, the commerce minister said that the country’s foreign reserves will be saved by shifting industries.
He said that barter trade model can be used to increase exports.
He said that the cabinet has approved the framework of barter trade model, the barter trade model will promote Pak-China trade.
The Federal Minister said that China is playing an important role in the economic development of Pakistan.
He said that he will fully cooperate with Chinese companies promoting exports, and in the future, Pakistan-China trade and economic relations will be more stable.
He said that the new industry will also create employment opportunities in the country. Chinese companies interested in transferring business to Pakistan should give comprehensive proposals.
On this occasion, the Chinese business delegation said that they are considering bringing a solar panels assembly plant for investment in Pakistan.
The delegation further said that they are considering the projects of metal plants, fertilizer production plant, food processing plants.
