The Supreme Court of Pakistan, during the hearing of the super tax case imposed on big companies, also directed the petitioners pending in the Islamabad High Court to deposit 50 percent of the super tax.
A 3-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial held a hearing.
The Supreme Court also directed Lahore and Islamabad High Courts to dispose of cases related to super tax quickly.
During the hearing, FBR lawyer Faisal Siddiqui appeared in the Supreme Court and argued that the Sindh High Court has already decided the cases, and the cases related to super tax are still pending in the Islamabad and Lahore High Courts.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial said that it would be better to wait for the verdict of the cases from the High Court.
The Supreme Court adjourned further hearing of the case till after Eid.
It should be noted that various companies have filed petitions against the super tax imposed by the government.
