Lahore: On behalf of the Government of Pakistan and the People of Pakistan, a cargo ship containing 1300 tents reached the affected area of Adan to help the Turkish brothers affected by the earthquake.
According to Express News, on the instructions of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Shahbaz Sharif, 1300 tents were delivered to Adan city from Pakistan to help the earthquake victims in Turkey.
A chartered plane took off from Lahore with relief supplies which was dispatched by Brigadier Umar of NDMA.
Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Rana Mashhood and Express News reporter Muhammad Haroon also left with relief supplies.
At Turkey’s Adan Airport, Ambassador Yurk Shivok and Pakistani embassy staff welcomed former provincial minister Rana Mashhood and senior journalist Muhammad Haroon and received relief supplies.
Speaking to the Turkish media on this occasion, former Minister Rana Mashhood said that Pakistan will continue to provide assistance to its Turkish brothers, Turkey had appealed to Pakistan to send 71,000 tents and 97,000 blankets.
He said that on the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, NDMA has completed the process of sending the blankets while so far 25 thousand tents have also been sent by three chartered Gargo planes on a daily basis. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has issued instructions to complete the relief operation by March 23.
