A Malaysian film has made history by winning the most Oscars at seven (file photo).
Los Angeles: The Hollywood film ‘Every Thing Everywhere All at Once’, which made a record business of 100 million dollars at the box office, managed to win seven major awards including the best film at the Academy Awards.
According to foreign media reports, the 95th Academy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night was a colorful event hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. The Malaysian film “Everything Everywhere All At Once” nominated for the Academy Awards won the most seven Oscars. History was made by winning.
Every Thing Everywhere All at Once surprised everyone by winning the Oscar for Best Picture as well as the best director, best actor and best supporting actor.
The best actor award went to Brandon Fraser for ‘The Wheel’ while Michelle Yeoh won the best actress award for ‘Every Thing Everywhere All At Once’.
On the other hand, the German film ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ bagged four awards at the event and was second in the list of the most awarded films.
The song ‘Natu Natu’ from the popular Tamil film ‘RRR’ won the Best Original Song Award while James Cameron’s popular film ‘Avatar the Way of Water’ was awarded the Best Visual Effects award.
Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise could not attend the Academy Awards this year, but his blockbuster film ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ won the Best Sound Award.
Also, ‘Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio’ was awarded the award for Best Animated Film, while strong contender ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, which was nominated for several categories, could only get the award for Best Costume Design.
There were no untoward incidents at the Oscars this year, while after the Will Smith and Chris Rock slapping incidents last year, the management set up a separate security team to deal with such emergencies.
