Karachi: Shahid Afridi has expressed his happiness on making Pakistan team’s bowling all-rounder and vice-captain Shadab Khan the captain for the T20 series against Afghanistan.
Former national team captain Shahid Afridi congratulated Shadab Khan on becoming the captain on social media website Twitter.
Shahid Afridi praised PCB’s decision and wrote that it is a wise decision on the part of the board to rest the senior players and give Shadab Khan a chance to captain along with the young players.
Excited to see Shadab Khan prove himself on the field of play, he said.
Earlier, PCB’s management committee announced a 15-man squad for the series while three players have been kept in reserve.

The team includes Shadab Khan (captain), Abdullah Shafiq, Azam Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Naseem Shah, Saeem Ayub, Shan Masood, Taib Tahir, Zaman Khan, Ehsanullah, Amadoseem, Muhammad Harith, Muhammad Nawaz and Muhammad Wasim Jr.
Abrar Ahmed, Haseebullah and Osama Mir have been included in the reserve players.
It should be noted that the three-match T20 series between Pakistan and Afghanistan will be played in Sharjah on March 24, 26 and 27. Afghanistan will host the series.
