San Francisco: After Elon Musk took over Twitter, serious circles are still unhappy with his decisions, and taking advantage of this, Meta has started work on a decentralized type of microblogging network, codenamed P92. is being given.
It has been confirmed by at least three reliable websites that Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp parent Meta has launched a text-only and micro-blogging website. It is expected that the decentralized social networking protocol ‘Activity Pub’ will be used.
A website called Moneycontrol and Platformer was the first to report this, but interestingly, Meta itself broke the silence on this new development and said in a statement.
‘We are working on a decentralized social networking platform for text updates. It aims to publicly provide update details for popular personalities and creators via text,’
Its app is in the works and is being worked on by the head of Instagram, Adam Missouri.
It should be noted that Twitter’s popularity has decreased due to some undesirable decisions by Elon Musk. In its alternative, several platforms have emerged, including T2, Mastodon and Post etc. Then their popularity has also increased due to decentralization.
Now if Meta manages to deliver this app well then P92 can be a great alternative to Twitter.
