LONDON: Afghan girls received a notice to leave London before the start of annual exams.
According to the British media, the government has suddenly decided to move away from London the Afghan girls who took refuge in Britain after the Taliban took over.
According to Arab News, Afghan girls are not even being allowed to take the annual school exams. Afghan girls are scheduled to start their annual exams from May 15, but they have been given a notice to leave London with their families.
Victoria Tilley, the head teacher of two 16-year-old Afghan girls at Fulham Cross Girls’ School in London, told the British newspaper Observer that she was deeply saddened by the decision, which will also affect 13 other Afghan girls.
The Afghan girls have been given until the end of March to move to Northamptonshire, 60 miles from London, according to Victoria Tilley, who said it would be an injustice to deprive the girls of the General Secondary School Certificate exam.
Adib Kochi, the father of the Afghan girl Zara, who holds a British passport, appealed to the local council for help, saying, ‘My wife is disabled and very ill, she is waiting for an operation date in London.’
On the other hand, the spokesperson of the British Home Office says that the local authorities will be required to admit the displaced Afghan students to the relevant schools so that there is no disruption in their studies.
According to the spokesman, more than 7,500 Afghan refugees have been given houses in London, now refugees are being transferred due to shortage of houses.
It should be noted that in January a group of Afghan families brought to London took the government to court over the issue that their children would have to leave local schools during their GCSE studies due to their move from London. .
