Mazar-e-Sharif: 8 people were killed and many were injured in a bomb blast during an event for journalists in Afghanistan.
According to foreign news agency Reuters, eight people, including five journalists, were killed as a result of a bomb blast during an event held by journalists at a cultural center in the Mazar-e-Sharif district of Balkh province, Afghanistan.
According to the Taliban administration, the explosion occurred at 11:30 in the morning due to the explosion of a mine. Among the injured are five journalists and three children while a security guard was also killed. It was not immediately clear which terrorist group was involved in the attack.
It should be noted that on Thursday in Balkh, provincial governor Maulvi Muhammad Dawood Muzamal was killed in his office along with two colleagues, the Taliban are already engaged in the investigation of this incident.
Taliban spokesman Haji Zaid says that the governor of Kandahar province will temporarily run Balkh until Supreme Leader Haibatullah Akhundzada appoints a new governor for Balkh.
