Alipur: In the Alipur region of Punjab, a citizen committed suicide by jumping into the canal with his four-year-old daughter due to inflation and poverty.
53-year-old Muhammad Saleem, a resident of Ahmedpur Sharqia, jumped into the canal with his four-year-old daughter Abbasia in Head Panjand under Sadar police station limits of Alipore.
According to Aini Shah, Salim tied the daughter to him with a cloth and then jumped into the canal.
After receiving the information about the incident, rescue 1122 divers reached the spot and started the rescue operation to search for the bodies.
