Islamabad: In Quaid-e-Azam University, the university administration announced a new hostel policy for male and female students on the issue of closure of hostels after a dispute between student organizations.
According to the notification issued by Registrar Quaid-e-Azam University, the hostels will have biometric entry system and CCTV cameras will be installed there immediately, allotment of all students will be canceled and made as per the new policy.
According to the notification, advance deposit for spring session will be refunded, old fee of students getting Ganai allotment will be adjusted, old procedure for getting hostel is done away with first come first served policy. was changed and linked with academic merit.
The notification said that the rules of hostel allotments have been amended in the new policy, according to the new policy all the allotments of the hostels should be canceled and the hostels should be applied for according to the new policy, the fees collected for spring semester 2023 should be refunded. will be done.
According to the notification, the students who will get allotment as per the new policy will have their accrued fees adjusted. has also been changed.
Apart from this, hostels administration will decide the hostel seats keeping in mind the number of students and departments in each department, the chair person or director of the department will recommend the names of the students for these seats and meanwhile strictly on the merit list. According to the notification, a fresh merit will be created after every hundred semesters after the first merit, the hostels will be vacated for construction and renovation during summer vacations, however MPhil, PhD or undergraduate students will be allowed their Accommodation will be granted on the recommendation of the supervisor or chairperson and the actual expenses incurred will be charged in return.
According to the notification, in case of violation of the rules, the allotment will be canceled immediately, it is further stated that no guest of the students will be allowed to stay in the hostels, similarly no attachment will be allowed. .
Apart from this, the chairpersons of the hostels supervisory committees should conduct extra-curricular activities in their respective hostels, a budget will be spent on the repair of the hostels and the university administration should ensure the timely release of these funds, the duty of the staff in the hostels should be ensured 24 hours, the hostels The existing fee structure should also be revised, heaters, AC and desert coolers will not be allowed in the hostels.
