According to FBR notification, sales tax has been increased to 25% on imported tiles, sanitary ware, imported furniture and fancy lights, sales tax on imported and locally manufactured 1400 cc vehicles has also been increased to 25%.
It may be noted that two days ago, the government had fulfilled another condition of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the cabinet had approved to increase the sales tax on luxury items to 25 percent.
