Confusion and tussle over fixing the minimum purchase price for new production of wheat in Punjab has ended, the Prime Minister has given final approval to the price recommended by the caretaker provincial cabinet at Rs 3900 per maund, along with the aid. The conflicting opinions of setting the price at Rs 3800 or Rs 4 thousand have died down.

Apart from this, the poor families of Punjab will be given a cash subsidy equal to the price of flour required for one month under the Benazir Income Support Program.
