A bill has been introduced to deal with those who enter the UK illegally.
The bill was introduced by Home Secretary Sylla Braverman in London. Soyla Braverman said on the occasion that those arriving in Britain on small boats would be immediately sent to other countries. Illegal persons can be detained without bail for up to 28 days.
He further said that persons below 18 years of age and medically unfit to fly would be able to appeal.
Soyla Braverman said a new crew of 700 people would be recruited to intercept the small boats. NCA’s funding will be doubled to deal with gangs of smugglers.
According to media reports, Labor leader Sir Keir Starmer called the plan unworkable.
