Karachi: The Anti-Violent Crime Cell arrested the woman involved in kidnapping for ransom under the guise of friendship and rescued the hostage.
According to the sources, the AVCC police, acting on a tip-off, arrested a woman involved in kidnapping for ransom and recovered the hostage Riaz Ali, however, the name of the accused is being kept secret.
According to the police, a case of abduction of Riyaz Ali was registered in Saeedabad police station on the complaint of a citizen named Amzar Khan on January 7.
The accused had demanded a ransom of one and a half crore rupees for the release of the abductor, while the police are actively looking for the other 4 kidnappers who were involved with the woman.
The accused has confessed to calling Riyaz Ali on the pretense of friendship in the initial investigation and later to carry out the kidnapping, the accused further revealed that she used to invite people to different rented places after pretending to be friends on the mobile phone. Where the kidnapping was done with the help of other members of the group already present in the house.
The accused has taken possession of various plots with the help of land mafia related to kidnapping for ransom. Further investigation is going on with the arrested accused.
