Indonesia;  11 people died in the landslide and 50 are missing

Jakarta: Incessant rains in a mountainous region of Indonesia have triggered landslides that buried several houses.

According to the World News Agency, rains are continuing in the islands of Indonesia. Roads are flooded and normal life is suspended. During the rain, a huge mudslide fell on the houses.

More than 5 houses were buried under the landslide. 11 bodies have been recovered from the debris while it is revealed that more than 50 people are still buried in the debris. Children and women are also among the dead.

The in-charge of the rescue team says that there are difficulties in reaching the islands due to bad weather and continuous rains, but all possible measures are being taken to provide relief work.

Indonesia, an island country, is prone to unpredictable rains, floods and landslides due to climate change. 1700 were destroyed due to floods and rains in Banjar district and normal life could not be restored for a month.
