Karachi: Sindh High Court rejected the petition against Aurat March after hearing the preliminary arguments.
According to Express News, a petition was heard in the High Court to ban the women’s march.
The petitioner stated that the women’s march on March 8 should be banned because the slogans used in the women’s march are against our society.
The court observed that there was nothing objectionable in the slogans objected to by the petitioner, the Constitution of Pakistan grants freedom of movement to all citizens.
The court rejected the petition against the ban on women’s march after hearing the initial arguments, while also imposing a fine of 25 thousand rupees on the petitioner Bisma Noreen alias Ameer Jahan.
On this occasion, the court remarked that if the petitioner does not pay the fine amount, then his identity card should be blocked by NADRA, the petitioner does not have any material on the basis of which ban can be imposed, the purpose of filing the petition is publicity. To be obtained, the petitioners are not aggrieved parties.
