Drinks in glass bottles banned in Sindh schools

Karachi: A formal notification has been issued to ban drinks in glass bottles in private schools of Sindh.

According to the notification of Additional Director of Private Schools, Rafia Mallah, a heartbreaking incident took place a few days ago when a class 5 student of a private school died after a glass bottle filled with Limca drink exploded in a school premises. It was placed on the stall.

Principals, administrators of private schools are directed to ensure that drinks in any glass bottle are not kept for sale in the school premises, the notification said.

Similarly, soft drinks in glass bottles may not be kept or sold in schools, however soft drinks in plastic bottles or cans may be sold in schools.

According to the notification, these steps are being taken to protect the children so that such a painful incident does not happen in the future.
