Islamabad: The Rawalpindi District Health Department has taken several measures for the anti-dengue campaign to combat the possible new wave of dengue, aimed at preventing the spread of this deadly disease.
According to the officials, strict surveillance will be started soon in the areas that are likely to become dengue centers, including the areas of Potohar and Chaklala cantt. Also, the training of 2000 and 1360 regular Dinghi staff working on daily wages has been completed. This planning has been done under the incidents of dengue last year.
The plan has been named as Dengue Microplan which covers the areas of Potohar from Garja Union Council, Chak Jalal Deen, Dhamial, Kalyal, Renala and Chaklala to Potohar which are susceptible to dengue outbreak. It was also decided that even in case of just one case, the entire area will be declared sensitive.
On the other hand, the responsibility of destroying dengue mosquitoes and their larvae by proper spraying is also included in the same micro plan. On the other hand, anti-dengue campaign will be conducted in all seven union councils of Rawalpindi district. According to the Department of Health, in January and February this year, teams inspected 1.2 lakh houses and 5 lakh other places and caught or identified dengue mosquito larvae from 712 houses and 141 outdoor places outside them, while 42 adult mosquitoes were found. has also been identified.
