KARACHI (PNP): A vibrant celebration of interfaith harmony in connection with the Hindu festival of Holi and the Muslim festival of Eid in a joyous display of national unity and cultural exchange was organized here at Vankwani House, Karachi.

Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, Patron-in-chief of Pakistan Hindu Council and Chairman Dr Prem Kumar Sital Das Memorial Trust hosted the event that aimed to foster greater understanding and mutual respect among different faith communities residing across the country. “Holi celebrates the triumph of good over evil, as symbolized by the burning of Holika, the demoness,” he stated, emphasizing that religious festivals such as Eid and Holi provide an opportunity to forgive others.
“Pakistan Hindu Council believes that cultural exchange and interfaith dialogue are essential for building a harmonious society,” Dr Ramesh further said, informing that the Pakistan Hindu Council decided to postpone the Holi event from mid of March in respect of holy month of Ramadan.
On the occasion, an impressive dazzling fireworks show was also held which according to Dr Ramesh Vankwani symbolizes the bright future of Pakistan and the people of Pakistan regardless the debate of minority and majority.
Dr Ramesh Vankwani, while talking with the media, emphasized that the green color of Pakistani flag represents all communities of our beloved country whereas white color demonstrates peace and prosperity. “Holi is a celebration of life, colors, and the human experience, with a focus on renewal, forgiveness, community, and the balance of nature,” he said.
The colorful celebration featured two separate cake cuttings for Holi and Eid Millan party whereas religious bhajans, patriotic songs, cultural performance, and traditional cuisine won the hearts of participants, which included diplomats from various countries and representatives from religious leaders, civil society, business community and media.
