Lucknow: In a major development in the death of 4 children at a shelter home in India, the inquiry committee held the staff responsible and recommended the dismissal of the doctor.
According to the details, after the death of 4 children in a government shelter home in the city of Lucknow in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, the investigation committee has submitted a report in which the staff and the doctor have been declared responsible for the death.
In this regard, the Indian media says that the audit report filed by the investigation committee has stated that many omissions and negligence have been committed by the Child Welfare Committee.
The report said that Dr. Sudarshan Singh of the shelter home was giving the same advice to every child for the last 15 years, while the symptoms of these children’s diseases were different, if Dr. Singh had treated the children properly, their health would have improved. There was a strong possibility of a conviction, the report recommended Dr Singh’s immediate dismissal.
The report further recommended that the health department should set up a committee to review the performance of nurses posted in shelter homes. Only those nurses who are skilled and talented should be employed.
Also, after viewing footage from CCTV cameras installed at the shelter home, the audit team found that several infants were being fed from the same bottle, which could have increased the chances of infection.
The panel also recommended the removal of irresponsible female personnel who were endangering the lives of children and an employee employed by a third-party service provider.
