This year, heat waves are likely to occur in the country during March, April and May.

The Department of Meteorology has released a weather forecast for March, April and May this year, which shows the possibility of heatwaves in these three months.

According to the meteorological assessment, rains are likely to remain normal in most parts of the country, while the northern areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and most areas of Gilgit-Baltistan are likely to receive slightly less rains than normal.

Day and night temperatures are likely to be above normal in most parts of the country.

Rabi crops may ripen early while Kharif standing crops may require additional water due to the possibility of increased heat in the coming months.

Pollen season may start early in Islamabad and Lahore due to rising temperature and dry weather.

The current atmospheric conditions are indicating the onset of a heat wave in the plains. Domestic and agricultural consumption may increase in the future due to rising temperatures.
