Islamabad: After the verdict of the Federal Ombudsman, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has dismissed General Manager Security Major (Rtd) Amjad for allegedly harassing a female employee.
The Federal Ombudsman heard the harassment case on the complaint of the victim employee of PIA. The female employee was working in the PIA Vigilance and Security Department when she filed a harassment complaint against her GM Major (retd) Amjad.
The then PIA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Arshad Malik took notice of the complaint in 2019 and referred the matter to the airline’s women protection committee.
He ordered the committee to investigate the incident and submit a full report at the earliest. After completing the investigation, the committee recommended the dismissal of GM Major (retd) Amjad, but the recommendations were not implemented by the PIA officials.
Later, the victim woman approached the Federal Ombudsman for justice and the Federal Ombudsman ordered the immediate dismissal of Major (Rtd) Amjad for harassing the female employee.
