Peshawar: According to Mari Petroleum Company Limited, production of 25 million cubic feet of gas has been started from the ST1 exploration well drilled in Bannu West block in North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the director of Mari Gas Company, the supply of more gas from other wells will be 200 million cubic feet per day. Through Mari Petroleum Company Limited and Pakistan Army, local people have not only been provided with employment near home, but also the social responsibility associated with it. Most of the Dariya projects have also been completed with a cost of around 70 million rupees.
According to the details, as a result of about one year of hard work, large reserves of natural gas were discovered from this project in May 2022, the cost of which is about one trillion cubic feet. It will prove to be an important milestone in prosperity.
This reserve will save the country about 1.5 billion dollars in foreign remittances annually. These deposits are about 15% of the country’s total gas production. Along with gas production, the Sui Nordron Gas Pipeline has also started pipe laying to connect the project to the national grid.
Assistant Commissioner Mir Ali said that water, solar plant, renovation and functioning of mosques and madrasas, distribution of clean water and free ration are the top among these projects, along with this, local people have been recruited as security guards in all campuses.
He said that all the grading and road building projects have been given to local contractors, in the coming years Mari Petroleum Company Limited and Sui Northern Gas Pipeline have also prepared a social responsibility plan worth about 800 million rupees. .
