Karachi: The mystery of this year’s largest robbery of six crore rupees in the city was solved, the driver of the hanging builder was the informant.

The police arrested three accused in four days, while three accused are still missing along with three crores. On February 28, 2023, builder Raheel was robbed of Rs 5.94 lakh at gunpoint from Bahadurabad area at 11 pm when he was going to his home in his car after taking the money from his office at Char Minar Chowrangi.

At the time of the incident, the driver was also with the money and the money was in the trunk of the car. At gunpoint, Charmalism in the Alto car pulled down both of them and took the car with the money. The money in the Chardabs was missing in Digi.

The CCTV footage of the money being withdrawn from the digi also surfaced, after the case was registered, the investigating authorities started the investigation by including the driver of the builder in the suspect list.

DSP Tipu Sultan Qaiser Ali Shah told Express that after the vehicle was found, the driver advised the builder Raheel that the vehicle was found, what was meant to be done was to avoid legal action as the amount was high.

During interrogation, the driver said in his statement that the color of the Alto car used in the incident was white, while the builder’s statement was that the car was grey. It happened and the links of the incident went together.

The driver Akhtyar Saeed admitted that he had planned the incident by informing some of his associates about the money. On the identification of the driver, Muslim Shah was arrested from Mujahid Colony Nazimabad, while the accused Qadir Shah was arrested in the raid from Hyderabad.

Police officials say that three crore rupees have been recovered from the custody of the arrested accused, the rest of the money and further efforts are underway to arrest the three accused.
