7 Pakistanis have died in Italy boat accident so far, Foreign Office confirmed

Islamabad: The Foreign Office has confirmed the death of 7 Pakistanis in the boat accident in Italy.

In the weekly briefing, the spokesperson of the Foreign Office said that there was a boat accident in the city of Benghazi near the coast of Libya on February 26, in which seven Pakistanis were among the dead.

The Foreign Office has said that the Pakistani embassy is facilitating the process of bringing the dead to Pakistan.

Earlier, Pakistan’s ambassador to Italy, Ali Javed, in a conversation with the British Broadcasting Agency, said that there were 20 Pakistanis on board the accident-prone boat, of which 16 were rescued while 4 were missing.

He said that the place where the accident took place is nine hours away from the Pakistani embassy in Rome. The first secretary of the Pakistani embassy reached the accident site and met the 16 Pakistanis who were rescued from the sea. and their condition is out of danger, these Pakistanis belong to different areas including Malakand, Hafizabad and Gujarat.

It should be noted that 58 people, including 28 Pakistanis, were reported dead after the migrant boat sank in Italy.
