Indian filmmaker and actress Nandita Das says that even if Shah Rukh Khan were to agree to work in her film, she would not have cast the actor in her film.
Nandita Das has recently released the trailer of her new film ‘Zwegato’ starring renowned Indian comedian Kapil Sharma in the lead role.
Talking to the media at the trailer launch of the film, Kapil Sharma said that when I was offered this film, the story revolving around the life of a food delivery boy seemed quite similar to my own life story because I myself have been a food delivery boy. I have worked as a delivery boy.
But still I was very surprised and so I asked Nandita Das why did you choose me for this role in the first place?
He revealed that I don’t know if it was a compliment or an insult, but Nandita Das, in response to my question, said that even if Shah Rukh Khan had also expressed his willingness to work in this film, I would have cast you. Because I want a common man for this film and you look just like a common man.
He said that the decision to make the film was taken during the days of the Corona epidemic and initially it was touted as an anthology with four directors.
He further informed that the film will be released in theaters across India on March 17.
It should be noted that it has already had its world premiere at the 47th Toronto International Film Festival in September last year and its Asian premiere at the 27th Busan International Film Festival.
Apart from this, the film ‘Zwegato’ was also screened at the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK).
