Attempt to blow up the Jafar Express from Quetta to Peshawar

Quetta: An attempt was made to blow up the Jafar Express from Quetta to Peshawar in Sabi city of Balochistan, as a result of which several coaches derailed and several passengers were injured.

According to Express News, there was an explosion on the railway track in Paneer area in Sabi. Police say that several coaches of Jafar Express from Quetta to Peshawar derailed, as a result of which several people were injured. As soon as the incident was reported, security forces and rescue teams have left for the spot.

On the other hand, the officials of the railway department have said that the movement of trains on the Machh-Sabi railway track has been suspended after the derailment of the train as a result of the explosion. Doctors and paramedics have been alerted by imposing emergency in all the hospitals of the district. Due to the mountainous terrain and difficult roads, the rescue teams are facing difficulties in reaching them.

According to DC Kuchi Agha Samiullah, an attempt was made to detonate the Jafar Express from Quetta to Peshawar with explosives. According to initial reports, 8 passengers have been injured while 8 bogies including the engine derailed.

Meanwhile, Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Qudous Bizenjo expressed his regret over the injuries of the passengers while condemning the targeting of Jafar Express by terrorism. He has directed the Deputy Commissioner Kuchi and Sabi to speed up relief activities immediately and provide the best treatment facilities to the injured in hospitals.
