Haris Kamran, a student of the Department of Food Sciences and Technology, University of Karachi, said that an air fryer has been created which provides the facility of healthy cooking by circulating hot air around the food with just a drop of oil. Amazingly, the students have developed this fryer in 6 days and at a cost of just 9 thousand rupees which can withstand temperatures up to 160 degrees.

Harris said that people often don’t know the temperature and the oil that’s best for them. Student Sohaib Malik said that a mini-refrigerator made from an eco-friendly thermoelectric chip, which uses eco-friendly gas instead of harmful chlorofluorocarbons, has also recorded as low as minus 12 Celsius.

Another student participating in the exhibition also developed a 12-volt water dispenser without a compressor, which has the ability to simultaneously cool and heat water, which will also save energy.

Areeba Khan while talking to Express said that she made a dough kneading machine for women doing housework to save their time, through it they can knead dough in 3 to 4 minutes and it is only 250 volts. Up to 5 kg of flour can be crushed, its cost is ten thousand rupees.

Ariba said that it has been specially introduced for women, who can benefit from this machine if they suffer from pain in the joints of their hands.

Assistant Professor, University of Karachi Dr. Zubala Yasir while talking to Express said that the students of the Department of Food Science of University of Karachi have proved that their creativity can play an important role in tackling the energy crisis faced by the nation. He said that 13 stalls have been set up.

Prof. Dr. Zabala said that the series of contacts has started from various companies to make machines on a commercial scale from home appliances made by students to other technologies of food sciences, private sectors and investors have already started providing food to students. They have given orders for equipments, which also encouraged them. If the students are accepted, they can undoubtedly revolutionize the scientific world.

He further said that prizes were also distributed to the students who stood first, second and third on behalf of private industries. The participants appreciated the efforts of the students.
