Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed ruthless legal action against hoarders and profiteers.
The prime minister gave a free hand to the district administration and law enforcement agencies in the federation and provinces in the high-level meeting and said that strictest action should be taken against profiteers, hoarders and those who charge excessive rates.
Shahbaz Sharif said that before Ramadan, conduct clean-up operation in warehouses, shops and markets, flood, take exorbitant prices from the people stuck in economic difficulties in Ramadan, deal with it with iron hands.
Apart from this, the Prime Minister gave the federal government along with the Chief Minister the task of controlling the abundance and prices of goods in Ramadan and directed that those who harass the fasting people during the month of worship should be taught a lesson with the force of law.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that if there is a disturbance in the demand, supply and prices of goods, action will be taken against the officers of the respective areas.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was briefed that there is no shortage of food items including wheat anywhere in the country. On which the Prime Minister attacked the officials in the meeting and said that if there is no shortage of food, then why increase the price of chicken?
Later, Shahbaz Sharif directed that supply of quality goods should be ensured at utility stores across the country. He said that modern technology should be used to control the prices in Ramadan Bazaar.
