Indian actress Aditi Rao Hydari will be seen in two period series this year, first in the drama Z5 series ‘Taj: Divided by Blood’ she will play the role of Anar Kali next month.
While she will feature in Bollywood’s renowned filmmaker, director, screenwriter and music composer Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s series ‘Hira Mundi’, which will be released on Netflix later this year.
Aditi Rao Hydari, when contacted about playing the role of Anarkali, revealed that at first I refused to do the role because I thought only Madhu Bala was Anarkali.
“My vision for this role has been that Prince Salim’s only love interest is the legendary Madhu Bala who had already immortalized the role,” he added.
36-year-old Aditi said that it is an iconic role that starts and ends only with Madhu Bala, but I was told that it is not a remake of Mughal Azam but a family drama, which she then prepared for.
It should be noted that the series will premiere on March 3 and will feature senior Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah as Emperor Akbar, while Sandhya Mridul will play the role of Maharani Jodha Bai, Zarina Wahab as Queen Salima, Asham Gulati as Prince Salim, Taha Shah as Prince. Murad, Shubham Kumar Mehra will play Prince Daniyal, Rahul Bose will play Mirza Hakeem and Dharmendra Sheikh will play Saleem Chishti.
Earlier, the roles of Emperor Akbar, Prince Salim and Anar Kali were played by Prithviraj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar and Madhu Bala, the most beautiful actress in the film history of the subcontinent, in the 1960 historical film Mughal Azam respectively.
