Islamabad: Due to a clash between two student organizations in Quaid-e-Azam University, the university was closed for an indefinite period.
In the notification issued by the Registrar of Quaid-i-Azam University, Dr. Raja Qaiser, it has been said that due to the tense situation in the university, the university has been closed for an indefinite period. The students residing in the hostels have been instructed to vacate the hostels immediately.
Earlier, there was a fight between two groups on the manhattans of Quaid-e-Azam University in which 7/8 students were injured. During the fight, students from both sides used sticks, iron rods and stones freely on each other.
During the altercation, the windows of the university’s ambulance were also broken while manhattans were also vandalized, later the students of the two linguistic councils moved to the hostels where the fight continued.
The Quaid-i-Azam University administration called the SHO Secretariat and DSP Secretariat to control the situation, after which the hits were stopped outside the Jamia limits, but the students continued to clash with each other inside the University limits.
In view of the tense situation, the university administration issued a notification to keep the university closed indefinitely and the students to vacate the hostels immediately.
According to the sources, the Jamia administration is going to conduct a grand operation by vacating the hostels, if the students do not vacate the hostels, then the operation will be started from Tuesday.
