Nokia changed its logo after 60 years

Nokia has changed its blue logo for the first time in 60 years.

Nokia has announced plans to change its brand identity for the first time in nearly 60 years, with the new logo signaling the telecom device maker’s focus on bolder moves.

The new Nokia logo consists of five different shapes that form the word “NOKIA”, replacing the iconic blue color of the old logo with the new design.

The company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pekka Lindmark told Reuters in an interview that earlier we were only committed to smartphones, but now Nokia is a business technology company.

The company has introduced 3 affordable mobile phones and logos at the annual Mobile World Congress (MWC) which started in Barcelona on Monday.

Pekka Lindmark took over the Finnish company in 2020, after which he developed 3 strategies (Reset, Accelerate and Scale) to save the company from another disaster.

Addressing the Mobile World Congress, he said that now that the re-scale phase has been completed, we are going to start the second phase.

He added that Nokia still wants to expand its service provider business, in which it sells equipment to telecom companies, but now Nokia’s main focus is selling components to other companies.
