Karachi: Most of the private educational institutions in Karachi remained closed on Monday after the school van owners did not operate the transport and an appeal by an unknown association of private schools to keep the educational institutions closed.
Some private educational institutions have opened in the city, in which the attendance of students and teachers is less than normal, while the teachers who go to school by school van or public transport also could not come to school, due to which the attendance of students as well as teachers in schools. Government schools are open but attendance is not as per normal.
Most of the private schools in the city have announced the closure of schools on Monday through WhatsApp groups and Google messages, but the reason for the closure has not been given, while some schools have closed schools citing uncertainty in the city.
It should be noted that a religious organization had announced a nationwide strike on Monday against inflation, after which the situation regarding the opening of schools had become uncertain and since Sunday night, school van owners have not driven their vans in the morning. The information was started to be given to the parents.
School van owners feared that any untoward incident might happen if they brought their transport on the road, while the situation became more complicated after the alleged target killing of the headmaster of Arqam School in Golestan Johar area of Karachi and private A little-known association of schools also announced a school shutdown in protest against the targeted killing, and news of the shutdown continued to circulate on social media.
It should be remembered that the Department of School Education had announced to keep educational institutions open as usual on Monday.
