Lahore: It will be difficult for the Punjab Police to provide security duties for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the census.
According to Express News, the number of personnel of the Punjab Police for security during the PSL and census has decreased, the IG Punjab has requested 15 thousand personnel from the federal government for the census to be started from March 1, including Lahore.
Police officials say that more than 5,000 employees will be required for 4500 teams in Lahore for the census, while 50,000 personnel will be required for more than 47,500 teams across the province.
Police officials say that there are only more than 14 thousand people in the police reservoir.
According to the police officials, how the personnel will be provided to the census teams, the plan has been prepared, according to which the personnel of the police stations in all the districts will perform duty with the census teams and 1 official with each team. While one supervisory officer will be appointed on 10 teams.
IG Punjab Police says that during the PSL matches, the personnel requested by the federation will be deployed for the census in the respective districts.
It should be noted that the education department had asked for 50,000 people for the census.
