Karachi businessmen, restaurant and wedding hall owners refuse to close their business early

Karachi: Traders rejected the orders of Commissioner Karachi to close bazaars, shopping malls and wedding halls early at night to implement the energy saving plan of the federal government.

President of Karachi Electronics Dealers Association Muhammad Rizwan termed the closure of commercial centers at 8 o’clock in the night against the interests of the traders and said that the traders will not close the markets at 8 o’clock in the night.

He said that the Commissioner Karachi has taken a decision against the interests of traders in the dark of night which is not acceptable in any case. He said that in the discussions held in the office of the Commissioner Karachi, it was promised that the energy saving plan would be prepared in the context of the interests of the businessmen. Muhammad Rizwan made it clear to the government that the businessmen of Karachi will not cooperate with the government on the decision to close the commercial centers and shops at 8 pm.

Meanwhile, the heads of marriage halls association and restaurant owners also said that while rejecting the decision of early closure, they said that they will carry out their work as usual. .

On the other hand, the spokesperson of the Commissioner Karachi explained that no notification has been issued regarding the closure or working hours of marriage halls, restaurants, commercial centers.
