The Jordanian army has foiled an attempt to smuggle arms from Syria by drone.
According to state media, the kingdom’s border guards spotted a drone loaded with weapons and hand grenades entering the country’s eastern region.
Military officials say the armed drone was shot down in Jordanian territory.
After the search, the border guards recovered an M4 carbine rifle and four hand grenades from the drone.
It should be noted that the Jordanian authorities have reported an increase in the number of arms smuggling cases from Syria in the past year.
