Egypt;  Obese people are prohibited from going on Hajj

Cairo: In Egypt, people with many other diseases, including obesity, were banned from going to Hajj.

According to the World News Agency, the spokesman of the Ministry of Health of Egypt, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, says that this year only those pilgrims who do not suffer from chronic or infectious diseases and who are over 12 years of age will be allowed for Hajj.

Besides, priority will be given to those who are going to perform Hajj for the first time.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Health of Egypt said that a category of diseases has been created and people suffering from these diseases will not be allowed to go on Hajj.

The spokesperson confirmed that according to the guidelines of the Saudi government, Egyptian citizens wishing to perform Hajj this year will be required to undergo full vaccination against Corona, Meningitis and Seasonal Flu.

In addition, pilgrims to Saudi Arabia must submit a Corona vaccination certificate with QR codes to prove that they have received a booster dose of Corona at least 6 months ago and a meningitis vaccine at least 10 days before.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Health confirmed that there will also be a ban on obese people wishing to perform Hajj. Apart from this, patients with tumors, Alzheimer’s disease, heart and blood vessel diseases, cancer, lung fibrosis and kidney dialysis patients will be banned.

Egyptian authorities say that pregnant women may also be banned from going on Hajj in the development of restrictions.
