Karachi: Pakistani actress Sanam Jung has said that healthy and fat actresses get less opportunities than thin girls in showbiz.
Speaking to a British broadcaster, the actress said that Mona’s role is in line with our society and the showbiz industry, where female artists are expected to be thin.
Sanam Jung said that I have never seen fat women on screen, if you are underweight you can easily enter the showbiz industry and it is considered a standard of beauty.
The actress said that if a woman is overweight, it is very difficult for her to enter our industry.
He said that ‘Piyari Mona’ focuses on mental health, depression and positive body issues and is a completely different side from the daily dramas on TV.
The actress’ role in the drama series ‘Piyaari Mona’ has been the talk of the town for the past few months, the series revolves around a fat woman who doesn’t conform to society’s standards.
