On the order of the District and Sessions Court, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry was transferred to Adiala Jail on 14-day judicial remand.
According to Express News, Fawad Chaudhry was produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate Waqas Raja on completion of his 2-day physical remand after his arrest on the charge of threatening the Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commission members.
During the hearing, the police and the prosecutor requested for his further physical remand. The court reserved its decision on the petition and later issued it, in which the court sent Fawad Chaudhry to jail on 14-day physical remand.
Judicial Magistrate Waqas Ahmad Raja delivered a reserved verdict, rejecting the plea of the police and the election commission for further physical remand and ordered Fawad Chaudhry to be sent to jail on judicial remand.
After the court order, PTI decided to file bail for Fawad Chaudhry. In this regard, lawyer Faisal Chaudhry said that we will file a bail application shortly.
Earlier, as the hearing started, the prosecutor started the arguments and while reading the FIR told the court that this language was used against the Chief Election Commissioner, caretaker Chief Minister. They are carrying this narrative behind the regime change. We have made the voice match of Fawad Chaudhry. Photogrammetry test is to be done. Recoveries are still to be done. The prosecutor also read out the decision of the High Court in the Shahbaz Gul case.
Police request further remand
On this occasion, the police requested for further physical remand of Fawad Chaudhry. The police took the position that at 12 midnight, a 2-day remand was obtained, by which time one day had already passed. Practically we have got one day remand, now more remand should be given.
Arguments of Vakil Election Commission
The lawyer of the Election Commission while arguing in the court said that the CDA has been obtained from Pemra and voice matching has also been done. The accused has also admitted to the speech before the court on the previous hearing and then during my arguments he was saying “Insha Allah, Masha Allah”. We were told that they work as ministers. We were threatened to go to their houses. After the regime change, such things are being said against the Election Commission together with the government. We were also blamed and pressured.
The Lawyers Election Commission further said that the law is equal for all, a lawyer’s license is suspended with any government post. His house is to be searched, mobile phones and laptops are to be recovered. This narrative is not that of Fawad Chaudhry, but it is the narrative of a group, a political party.
Bitter words between Babar Awan and election commission lawyer
During the hearing, there was a bitter exchange between Election Commission’s lawyer and Fawad Chaudhry’s lawyer Babar Awan. Babar Awan said not to make political rhetoric.
Vakil election commission continued arguments and said which messages came? Whose instructions were there? All this has to be seen by the police. The people behind it also need to be included. It is childish to say that we have not named anyone.
After the request from the police, the lawyer of Election Commission also requested to remand Fawad Chaudhry. The lawyer said that Fawad Chaudhry is a senior politician but no one is above the law. Fawad Chaudhry’s house must be searched.
Vakil Election Commission said that other people are also included in the statement of Fawad Chaudhry, on which Babar Awan said that I am also included in the statement of Fawad Chaudhry. A bitter exchange took place between the two lawyers again. Babar Awan said that the nuclear state has been made into a wax doll. Secretary Election Commission is also the servant of government servants, Babar Awan
Babar Awan said that Fawad Chaudhry is neither Kulbhushan nor a terrorist, his face was veiled. Kulbhushan’s face was not veiled like Fawad Chaudhry. Secretary Election Commission is also a servant of government servants. The plaintiff of the case is a government servant. Taxes are given by the public, government officials impose them. A public servant is a public servant.
Fawad Chaudhry’s lawyer added that the Secretary Election Commission is not even a Union Council. The Secretary Election Commission should keep a title like Viceroy of India for himself. Secretary Election Commission is not a state. I am proud of my minister, my minister is allowed to enter the Supreme Court. It is not known why the prosecution is so angry with Munshi. The Election Commission is neither a federal government nor a national assembly.
He said that they will conduct a fair election, all the decisions are coming against me. Fawad Chaudhry is a senior leader of Tehreek-e-Insaf. Will the Secretary Election Commission conducting criminal proceedings conduct transparent elections? Build a big prison in Pakistan and count everyone as prisoners. The Election Commission is representing a party. It is said that he speaks, therefore he is caught. Babar Awan said that trillions of rupees are spent on the Election Commission. Public servants are neither a provincial government nor a part of the federal government. The court should see what the public servants are made of. Prosecution says Fawad Chaudhry speaks, who does not speak in Pakistan? All those who spoke for the judges in the past are now in the government.
Argue but briefly, instructing the court to proceed
The court directed Babar Awan that he has the right to give arguments throughout the day, but keep it brief. Babar Awan said that I will give arguments for 2 days, he has taken remand for 2 days. Today 27 January is also my birthday, today is my day.
Babar Awan further said that the people were bought in the vote of no confidence against the Prime Minister. There is a video of Fawad Chaudhry’s statement, what should be investigated? They are plaintiffs in my case, how can they give me justice? Why does the Election Commission take shelter behind the police? They registered a case against Farrukh Habib, it is not a republic. In the case against Farrukh Habib, they say we were 80 and this one committed the robbery.

Order to open the handcuffs of Fawad Chaudhry in the court
During the hearing, the court stopped Fawad Chaudhry from handcuffing him in the courtroom. The court said that if they put handcuffs outside, it is their will. Later, the court reserved the decision on Fawad Chaudhry’s request for physical remand. After which Fawad Chaudhry was taken to Bakshi Khana under tight security.
Later, the court gave a safe verdict and ordered PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry to be sent to Adiala Jail on 14-day judicial remand.
