Bollywood actor and Canadian citizen Akshay Kumar had to change his passport due to criticism of his citizenship in India.
According to an Indian media report, Akshay Kumar has said that he has applied to change his passport.
It should be noted that Akshay Kumar is facing criticism due to his Canadian citizenship.
However, during a television interview, Akshay Kumar said that India is everything to him.
He said, ‘Everything I have earned and everything I have achieved is from here.’
He said that I am lucky that I got the opportunity to give something back to India.
Akshay Kumar also said that ‘It hurts you to see people talking without knowing you.’
He said that ‘I thought that the films are not running and there is some work to be done, so I went there (Canada) for this purpose. My friend was there, he told me to come here, so I went.’
Akshay Kumar said that during this time two of his films were left to be released and when he went to Canada, both the films were released and became super hits.
“After the release of the films, my friend asked me to go back and start working again, so at that time I had forgotten that I even had a passport,” he said.
Akshay said that ‘I never thought that I would have to change my passport, but now I have to, I applied to give up my Canadian citizenship.’
