The head of European foreign affairs, Josep Borrell, has said that Europe is the leading country in the world in providing humanitarian and development aid, but we do not stick our flag on every aid package.
Speaking in New York, he said that at the moment, the leaders of many countries in Africa and Asia think that all the attention of the European Union is now on Ukraine, so they are not able to pay attention to the problems of other countries of the world.
He said that we are accused that we only care about the war in Ukraine and do not listen to the problems of other regions, this is a Russian propaganda, we care more about Ukraine because they are ours. It’s close to home.
“We have to set the record straight with data and arguments,” said Josep Borrell, “sometimes we get the impression that what Europe does is not taken for granted, that Europe is the world’s leading donor of humanitarian and development aid.” is the largest donor.

Giving an example of this, he said that despite the claim of restrictions on Syrian aid after the recent earthquake, 90% of humanitarian aid to Syria was provided by Europe, America and Canada.

Josep Borel claimed that we are also being blamed for the Russia-Ukraine war and that this brazen Russian propaganda is being promoted in many countries of the world and it is very important to stop it.
Giving an example of this, he said that according to a survey, 79% of people in China, 70% in Turkey and 80% in India still see Russia as an ally or partner, and they would not support the West in supporting Ukraine. Do not trust the objectives.
