Versatile Hollywood actor Liam Neeson wanted to play the role of James Bond but his wife did not allow him to do so.
In an interview, Liam said that he was in early talks to play a detective when his wife, Natasha Richardson, said, “If you accept the offer, I will leave you.”
As the role went to Daniel Craig, Liam said he was approached by producer Barbara Broccoli several times in the 1990s to play James Bond 007.
This was the time when Liam Neeson was nominated for an Oscar for ‘Schindler’s List’.
But his wife gave an ultimatum that he could not become James Bond.
Liam said, “I think Natasha was worried that there would be a lot of James Bond romances in the film, which would possibly involve me hooking up with an actress, so she forbade me.”
It should be noted that the role of James Bond was well played by Daniel Craig, he acted in 5 films of this series, the last film ‘No Time to Die’ was released in 2021.
