Karachi: Counter Terrorism Department of Sindh Police became inactive, DIG CTD in an emergency meeting investigated the officers posted in CTD and threatened to close CTD offices.
According to the details, an emergency meeting was held in the CTD office under the chairmanship of DIG CTD Asif Ijaz Sheikh yesterday. , the DIG then questioned, what progress was made in the attack on Japanese citizens, what is the performance of the policemen in target killing, how many suspects were arrested for killing citizens for resisting robbery.
When CTD officers kept silent on all these questions, the DIG expressed his anger on the officers.
DIG CTD Asif Ijaz Sheikh said that if this is the performance, then what is the need of Sindh Police to waste crores of rupees, if crores of rupees are being spent on incompetence, then CTD is closed. Don’t tell me that informers are doing special work, but tell me that terrorists involved in important cases have been arrested.
In the meeting, DIG CTD asked if the efficiency is zero, then what are so many personnel deployed in CTD doing, so many cells have been created in CTD and when asked about the efficiency, the officers hang their necks.
Speaking to Express News, DIG CTD Asif Ijaz Sheikh said that IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon is not satisfied with the performance of the officers posted in CTD, on which a meeting was called and the officers were referred to their performance. Three cases of kidnapping for ransom have been registered against the CTD police in the last two months, while more than 12 officers and personnel have been arrested and removed from their posts, while some officers have been suspended for involvement in illegal activities.
