Mehdi, convicted of rape, was sentenced to 10 years in prison
Karachi: The Sindh High Court rejected the appeal against the punishment of an employee convicted of raping a girl in an orphanage.
Justice Salahuddin Panhour remarked that there was a 16-year-old girl in her custody, she was raped, already the accused received a lesser sentence. The court rejected the appeal against the sentence of accused Mehdi Hasan.

During the hearing, the lawyer of the accused told the court that the case has been registered late, there is no eye witness. The medical examination did not confirm the violence on the girl, the DNA did not match either.
Justice Salahuddin Panhour said that the medical report says that DNA did not happen. The girl stayed in the shelter home for 11 years, why didn’t she complain earlier? .

The public prosecutor told the court that the DNA of the girl was sent late. After 90 days, the victim’s DNA was sent.
It should be noted that a case was registered against the accused in Jamshed Quarter Police Station in 2021, on which the trial court sentenced the accused Hasan Mehdi to 10 years imprisonment after being found guilty.
