Karachi: A bloodthirsty dog mauled an infant in New Karachi, 25 stitches and vaccinations were applied to the child’s face, while the child will undergo treatment for 6 months.
Umeer, the father of the injured child, while talking to Express, said that he is a resident of House No. N-336, Sector 5 J, New Karachi and has his own Pakwan Center in New Karachi. The girl was sitting outside the house with Zuhan when suddenly a wounded dog came from somewhere and attacked Zuhan until he or other people of the neighborhood reached Zuhan, the dog had scratched the child’s mouth and escaped. .
Umair said that we immediately took the child to the Sindh Government Hospital New Karachi, but the staff there refused to treat the child, saying that there is neither a doctor nor medicine to treat the child. So take the child to a major hospital where the child was immediately taken to Jinnah Hospital where treatment was initiated, the child was immediately taken to the emergency room where his face and mouth were grossly punctured. He received 25 stitches while also getting a dog bite vaccine.
He said that Zuhan was admitted to the hospital for three days and was discharged on Saturday evening and called back two days later for the vaccine. Doctors say that the treatment will last for 6 months, after which tests will be done to find out if there is any kind of germ in the child.
Speaking to Express, the grandmother of the injured child said that we do not have any expectations from the government and neither does the government provide any kind of help. He said that the Sindh Government hospital in New Karachi should be closed immediately so that the staff who are taking money without work can be spared.
He said that when the staff of Sindh Government Hospital refused to treat Zuhan and the ambulances of welfare organizations were contacted to go to Jinnah Hospital, however, no one had an ambulance and someone was asking for so much money that like We don’t want to go to Jinnah Hospital, Punjab, like the government, welfare institutions also work not to serve the public but to serve themselves, there is no one to ask or check them.
Residents of the area while talking to Express said that there are a lot of dogs in the area, when it is evening, children, even adults, are afraid to go out of the house in the street because there are so many bloodthirsty dogs that they are afraid to go out in the street, injured. The entire neighborhood, including the father of the unborn child Umair, contacted all the relevant offices, including the town office, several times and made requests for the elimination of the dogs, but there was no hearing.
He said that now when the dog injured the infant Zuhan, a person came from the town office with an injection to catch the dogs. Even if it doesn’t come, the dogs still come out to hunt their prey in the streets at nightfall. He said that such a terrible incident took place in the area, but neither the police nor any political party came to Umair’s house.
