New York: In America, the New York court has ruled that the government’s decision to give half of Afghanistan’s frozen funds to the 9/11 victims is illegal and the government does not have the authority to do so.

According to the World News Agency, a New York court declared illegal the government’s decision to give 3.5 billion dollars in frozen funds of the Central Bank of Afghanistan to the families of the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Judge Daniels wrote in the 30-page decision that judgment creditors have the right to collect on default judgments and to pay victims of the worst terrorist attack in our nation’s history, but the government is making those payments with funds from Afghanistan’s central bank. can’t

The decision also states that the government does not have the authority to pay compensation to the victims from the frozen Afghan funds. The compensation should be paid to the Taliban. Not the Afghan people, and the frozen funds belong to the Afghan people, not the Taliban.

It should be remembered that Joe Biden decided to use frozen Afghan funds to pay compensation to the families of those killed in the 9/11 attack in February 2022 and other victims.

The decision came after the families approached the court seeking compensation and the court ordered the government to make immediate payments to the victims.

The Taliban government rejected the decision of the Joe Biden administration, while human rights organizations also raised objections. Later this matter went to court. The court stopped the government from doing so.

Afghanistan’s central bank has more than $7 billion in assets that were frozen after the Taliban came to power on August 15, 2021.

It should be noted that on September 11, 2001, four hijacked planes crashed into the Twin Towers of New York, the Pentagon in Washington DC and a field in Pennsylvania, killing 3,000 people.

Blaming it on Al-Qaeda, the United States demanded the handover of Osama bin Laden, including Osama bin Laden, from the emir of the first government of the Taliban in Afghanistan, Mullah Omar.

However, the Taliban government asked the US for evidence of the involvement of Al-Qaeda leaders in this incident and refused to hand over these leaders to the US without it.

After which the US invaded Afghanistan and the Taliban government collapsed. Most of the leaders were imprisoned, went into hiding abroad or were killed. America’s favorite governments for twenty years.

Two years ago, a peace agreement was signed between the Taliban and the United States in Qatar, under which all foreign troops, including the United States, were guaranteed to leave Afghanistan safely and assured not to obstruct the establishment of the Taliban government.

On August 15, 2021, the Taliban took control of Afghanistan without any bloodshed. President Ashraf Ghani fled the country. By August 31, all foreign troops, including the US, had withdrawn.

Taban’s government is about to complete its second year in office, but no country has yet recognized it. Special missions are working for some countries, but embassies are closed and frozen funds have not been released.
