Islamabad: A request for suspension of sentence has been filed by Bushra Bibi in Duran-i-Idt Nikah case.
According to Express News, Bushra Bibi, wife of founder chairman PTI Imran Khan, has filed a petition for suspension of sentence in the Islamabad High Court in the marriage case. In the petition filed through Barrister Salman Safdar, it has been requested that the sentence be suspended and released on bail.
In the petition, the Islamabad High Court has been requested to suspend the decision of February 3 sentence and issue orders for release on bail. The prosecution presented weak and contradictory evidence to the court. Punishment could not be passed on the basis of these evidences. The sentence passed by the trial court cannot be sustained.

The petition further states that Bushra Bibi has been kept in the worst conditions in the jail to make her a victim of political vendetta. In order to fulfill the requirements of justice, it is necessary that the application for suspension of sentence should be dealt with expeditiously. The application for suspension of sentence, which is already under hearing in the session court, should be heard by the court. The request for suspension of sentence should be heard and decided on it soon.
It should be noted that on February 3, the Civil Court sentenced former first lady Bushra Bibi to 7 years in prison.
